Social Security Rulings are important when arguing a disability case. SSRs are sent out by Social Security that gives guidance to Judges on how they should handle certain issues. They cover a number of medical problems (like diabetes, obesity, and fibromyalgia) and other issues (like what is the meaning of sedentary and light work). They are binding (which means the Judge has to follow them) when a Judge looks at evidence or makes a decision.
These rulings are helpful to all persons to help understand different issues that come up in a hearing. As attorneys, we use these SSRs to make arguments that will make your case stronger and influence a Judge to grant benefits. Throughout the next few months, we will address certain SSRs and how they may impact your Social Security case. Stay tuned…..
